What the course gives you
International coaching method
Session plans drawn from the US and the Philippines, building solid technique alongside tactical understanding.
Small groups, close attention
Four to six athletes per coach. Every session, the coach gets to correct every player.
A clear progression
Over ten years of coaching and an SBP Level 2 licence certified by FIBA and the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas. Sessions are built per level rather than running one drill for everyone.
Who this is for
Rhino Hoops is built for two groups.
Players with a base who have specific gaps. The course works on finishing technique and fixing particular weaknesses, so the athlete is ready to compete.
Players new to basketball. An international training path, from the most basic technique through to all-round development, so the fundamentals are solid enough to build on.
What you train
The course runs on four tracks. Every athlete works on all four — what changes is the balance, because the coach spends longer on whichever one is weakest.
1. Fixing individual technique
- Shooting: stance, grip, and the accuracy of the release
- Passing: passing accurately, and reading the play before the pass
- One-on-one defence: faster reactions, and holding defensive position
- Dribbling: speed and ball control under pressure
2. Game sense and reaction
- Reading the game, deciding quickly and adapting
- Working through real situations and changing how you play mid-game
- Knowing when to attack, when to pass, and when to drop back
3. Conditioning and strength
- Endurance, speed, agility, lower-body strength
- Core strength, so the technique moves more smoothly
4. Competitive mindset and confidence
- Handling the pressure of a game
- Building confidence on the things that start working in training
- Training against real opposition, to get used to competing
